At Habitat for Humanity of Highlands County, we believe that every one of us deserves a decent and affordable place to call home, and that home becomes a launching point for a brighter future.
We partner with hard-working, low-income families to help them build a better life for themselves and their loved ones – because we know that decent, affordable shelter offers strength, stability, and self-reliance.
After each home has been built or renovated, it is sold with an affordable, no-profit mortgage and an affordable monthly payment. As Habitat homeowners make their mortgage payments, they are helping to complete the homes of future homeowners – and the cycle continues.
Homebuyer Program
By working with us from beginning to end, we can help prospective individuals prepare for the various responsibilities of homeownership, including learning about personal finances, mortgages, maintenance and upkeep of homes, and much more.
Habitat’s path to homeownership is an important and in-depth process, requiring hard work, time and dedication. But this helps to ensure the long-term success of Habitat homeowners.
Habitat homeowners must be active participants in building a better home and future for themselves and their families. Every Habitat home is an investment. For us, it is one answer to a critical need, and we believe that stronger homes will create stronger communities.
