About the Partnership
Through our partnership with families and individuals, we equip future home buyers with the strength and self-reliance they’ll need to be successful homeowners. Families who are accepted in the Habitat partnership will be required to complete a number of sweat equity hours.
- Classes involving financial education, hands-on maintenance training, future planning, and more
- Being involved in the process of building or renovating Habitat homes – including your own.
- There are other opportunities throughout the homeownership journey including attending events, writing thank you cards, and sharing your story.

*Attending an orientation is required before applying for a Habitat home
You must have a steady income
Habitat homes are not given away. They are sold to qualified homebuyers with a no profit mortgage. Each family must demonstrate steady income
You must have a need for Housing
A family or individual must be currently living in either substandard, transitional, hazardous, unaffordable and/or overcrowded housing
You must be willing to partner with us
A family or individual must have the willingness to partner with Habitat Highlands County by investing Sweat Equity in their home and the homes of other partner families
To be eligible to purchase a home with Habitat for Humanity, potential homeowners must meet these three areas of qualification:

The Women Build campaign empowers women to take charge in building homes and communities. It fosters collaboration among women builders and advocates for affordable housing while addressing gender disparities in construction.
Yes! We gladly accept donations of materials such as wood, appliances, or tools. Reach out to us to find out the specific needs of our current projects.
