Family Selection Committee:

 

To ensure that local families that are in need of affordable housing have the opportunity to learn about the Habitat program.

 

Interview families, who meet basic eligibility criteria, need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and willingness to partner with Habitat.

 
Understanding of low-income families and the struggles that they face and the ability to ensure confidentiality of applicant.

 

To ensure that applications turned in to the office are complete and meet all of the guidelines and criteria set by our affiliate.

 

All applicants must meet income and debt to income guide lines set by our affiliate.

 

Run credit report & Criminal background to be sure that applicant meets our criteria’s.

 

Meet with applicants who have passed initial screening to interview and determine their current housing situation and future needs.

 

Develop a system for accepting applications by working in partnership with the Manager of Family Services.

 

 

Family Support Committee:

 

Assist families through all phases of our program: sweat equity, homeownership education home purchase, maintenance of your home, adjust to new responsibilities, and continue partnership with us.

 

To assist families in their journey towards home ownership by developing one on one relationship with support and knowledge.

Support your assigned family from beginning that you are matched to them till a year they are in their home.

 

Attend and participate in committee meetings, homeowner activities and training events.

 

Visit new homeowners after dedication and begin to look at how they would like to continue their involvement with Habitat.
